Bill Nesbitt — Graphic DesignerI design Web sites, brochures, print ads, logos, trade show displays, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, CD cover art — I consider myself a full-service graphic artist.• Ads (this page) • Brochures (next page) • Other types of work (magazine covers, tradeshow displays, Web pages, PowerPoints, CD covers...) I charge by the hour,
and my fee is negotiable, depending on volume of work. I work on a PC,
which is still a bit unusual for a graphics person, but not as unusual
as it used to be, especially since the advent of the Internet. I use Quark
XPress, Macromedia Dreamweaver and a very nice draw program called Xara
that I found years ago — plus audio and video editing capabilities. All
of this (including PC vs. Apple) matters much less these days, since virtually
all publications accept PDF files. I'm also fluent in PowerPoint and am
good at proofing copy. |
| Here are some examples of ad layout. These are some recent layouts for Midwest Bio-Systems, a composting systems operation in Illinois. They appeared in magazines with such names as Composting News, Progressive Dairyman, and Biocycle. I especially like the first one -- a touch of humor applied to an otherwise "mundane" subject. I did the drawing and wrote the copy for that one. I'm a big Xara user when it comes to special effects, like shading, beveling, gradients. It's a great program for combining photography and effects. | |||
| Here are some ads for Hall Manufacturing, a mower factory in North Little Rock. I did layout on all, photography on some. These ads have also appeared in several national trade publications. | |||
